The term proof-reading refers to the process of rereading the translated text by another translator, aimed at detecting any typos, repetitions or omissions of parts of the source text, as well as spelling, grammar, syntactic mistakes and inconsistencies in page layout.
In this phase of post-translation review, the translator does not carry out terminology check unless glaring cases of inadequacy in the lexicon used by the original translator are identified, and they do not intervene either on the content or on the stylistic register.
